Clean water in the sewer?
Find it, seal it, document it.
Groundwater that seeps through defective pipes and joints, stormwater that enters through wrong connections and damaged structures: it all takes capacity the network and the treatment plant need. We locate where it enters, determine why, and engineer the sealing and rehabilitation concept for the existing network.
Signs of an infiltration problem
Flow that does not match use
More water arrives downstream than the connected users can produce, especially after rain or with high groundwater.
Overload at pumps and plants
Pumping stations and treatment plants handle extra volume that is not wastewater at all.
Visible entry on the footage
Running or dripping water at joints, cracks and connections, deposits of soil and sand in the pipe.
The other direction
Where groundwater gets in, wastewater can get out. Exfiltration is the same defect with a different risk.
How we solve it
Locate the entry points
From inspection footage, condition coding and measurements we identify where water enters and how much the defects matter.
Root cause, not just the leak
Displaced joints, deformation, structural damage or a wrong connection: we determine why the defect exists before choosing how to fix it.
Sealing and rehabilitation concept
Sealing, relining and structural fixes for the existing pipe, planned so the network stays in service.
Execution under supervision
Regional partners carry out the works to our concept; we supervise and document every step to a published standard.

Frequently asked questions
Can infiltration be controlled during construction?
Yes. In a tunnel boring project we supported the firms involved with techniques for routing groundwater and controlling infiltration and worked out the sealing for the affected sections, and the advance continued.
Do you work in my country?
We work location-independent around the globe. Analysis, diagnosis and concept happen remote or on site; the physical works are carried out by regional partners we equip, instruct and supervise. We have worked on projects in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Gulf and Europe.
How does an engagement start?
With a call or an email describing the problem. Usually the first step is an analysis of what already exists: inspection footage, plans, measurements, photos. From that we tell you the root cause as far as it can be determined, and what we would do about it.
Can I see references?
Eleven engagements are described in full on our cases page: the situation, what we did and what came out of it. We do not publish client names; references are named under confidentiality on request.
